Our Winemaking Philosophy
Kevin’s winemaking approach begins in the vineyard, sourcing grapes from five of the finest vineyards in Washington state, working hand-in-hand with our growers, and spending countless hours in the vineyards to make picking decisions based on peak ripeness and flavor.
The grapes are handpicked and shipped to the winery in refrigerated trucks. Once at the winery the grapes are gently destemmed and fermented in small one-ton fermenters to ensure ultimate quality and control of the fermentation. We take the minimalist approach to winemaking and let the quality of our fruit shine.
Once fermented the wine is transferred to the finest French and a few American Oak barrels. This is where the magic happens, the wine will be aged for up to 28 months then bottled. Unlike many other wineries, we bottle age all of our Red wines a minimum of one year before release.
Kevin focuses on 100% varietal wines to showcase Washington state’s incredible quality of fruit. His wines are intense, rich, complex, and bold. Kevin’s wines clearly display personality, seamless character, and graceful aging capability.
